- Google Account Data: If you choose to enable podcast mode, we collect your Google account access token and refresh token to access YouTube data on your behalf.

Content Data
- Flashcards: We store flashcard content (questions, answers, and metadata) that you create or that are generated from your messages.
- Review History: We track your review sessions, including ratings and timestamps, to implement spaced repetition algorithms.
- YouTube Data: If you enable podcast mode, we may access and store metadata from YouTube videos you've liked. YouTube data you consent to sharing with Memento is never transferred, shared or disclosed with any third parties.
- Browser Extension Submissions: If you use the Memento browser extension, we collect only the content you explicitly choose to send, such as highlighted text, the page URL and title associated with that submission, or a YouTube video ID when you request a quiz from a YouTube page.
- Extension Diagnostics: The browser extension may store and send limited client-side diagnostic events to help us detect and fix failures in the extension linking and submission flows.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our flashcard learning service
- To implement spaced repetition algorithms for optimal learning
- To send daily review reminders at your preferred time
- To enable podcast mode and send flashcards based on newly liked YouTube videos
- To link the browser extension to your Memento account and keep that link active across browser sessions

Data Storage and Security
- Database: Your data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database with appropriate access controls.
- Encryption: Sensitive data like Google tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Access: Only authorized system administrators can access raw database data.
- Browser Extension Storage: The browser extension stores a local auth token, configuration, and limited diagnostics in Chrome extension storage on your device. This local data is cleared when you remove the extension.
Third-Party Services
- Telegram: We operate through the Telegram platform and are subject to Telegram's privacy policies.
- Google: We use Google APIs to access YouTube data when you enable podcast mode.
- Browser Extension: The Memento browser extension communicates with Memento's backend over HTTPS to link your account and submit content that you explicitly choose to send.
Your Rights and Choices
- Data Access: You can request a copy of your data at any time.
- Data Deletion: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Opt-out: You can stop using the bot at any time by blocking it or deleting your chat.
- Google Access: You can revoke Google access through your Google account settings.
- Extension Access: You can remove the browser extension at any time, which also clears extension data stored locally in Chrome.
Data Retention
- We retain your data as long as you continue using Memento.
- If you stop using the bot, we may retain your data for up to 90 days before deletion.
- You can request immediate deletion of your data at any time.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
